Overview

Project background

Heritage Springs is a master-planned residential community built over an active oil field. LDC designed the engineering and surveying for the oil production component — the wellheads, pipelines, access roads and surface facilities — so legacy operations could continue safely alongside hundreds of new homes.

The Challenge

What this project demanded

Maintaining productive oil operations on the same 53 acres being delivered as a residential community — a regulatory and life-safety problem as much as an engineering one.

Our Approach

How LDC delivered

  • Designed consolidated well and pipeline corridors to shrink the operational footprint inside the community.
  • Coordinated buffers, screening and access with the residential master plan so neither side blocked the other.
  • Worked with the operator and the City to meet DOGGR/CalGEM and municipal requirements at every milestone.
Outcome

What got built

A 53-acre community where new homes and continuing oil operations coexist on the same site without compromising either.
