Overview

Project background

Bristol Street is one of Costa Mesa's primary arterials. LDC provided the engineering and surveying needed to rehabilitate 2.5 miles of pavement, drainage and frontage — a public-works project executed under traffic on one of the city's busiest corridors.

The Challenge

What this project demanded

Rehabilitating 2.5 miles of arterial without shutting it down — keeping commuters, transit and businesses moving while crews worked lane by lane.

Our Approach

How LDC delivered

  • Surveyed the corridor at high resolution so design tied cleanly to existing curb, gutter and drainage.
  • Designed in segments that matched the City's preferred traffic-control phasing.
  • Built in ADA upgrades at every curb return touched by the work.
Outcome

What got built

2.5 miles of rebuilt arterial that gave Costa Mesa a smoother, safer Bristol Street with modern ADA compliance.
